Yahoo (stylized as yahoo!) is an American web services provider, operated by its namesake company Yahoo! Inc., which is 90% owned by investment funds managed by Apollo Global Management and 10% by Verizon Communications. Its headquarters are located in Sunnyvale, California.

In July 2009, Yahoo entered into an joint agreement with Microsoft in which Yahoo would become the ad sales force for both companies in exchange for Microsoft's Bing taking over the search technology and logistics of both search engines.[1] In January 2019, Microsoft renewed the deal with Yahoo's majority owner Verizon (at the time), in which Bing Ads would manage advertising for both search engines.[2]
