Windows Server 2022 is the latest version of the Windows Server operating system developed by Microsoft, as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. It was released on August 18, 2021, succeeding Windows Server 2019.

Microsoft announced the release of the preview version of Windows Server 2022 at its Ignite event on March 2, 2021.[1] It was released to general availability on August 18, 2021.[2]
