Srini Koppolu is a former corporate vice president of Microsoft who was the general manager of the Microsoft India Development Center (MSIDC). He is presently an angel investor and the CEO of NewsPlus in India.[1]
Early life and education[]
Koppolu is from Koppole, near Ongole in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. He completed his undergraduate studies at Chivukula Sri Rama Sarma College in Ongole.[1]

Microsoft[]
Koppolu joined Microsoft as an entry-level software engineer in February 1989 and was involved in the research and development of many 1st generation initiatives. He rose to become a development manager and then corporate vice president. In 1998, he relocated from Redmond to India to set up what was at the time Microsoft's largest product development center outside the United States. Microsoft directed R&D investments to India to tap into the country's talent and market opportunities. MSIDC grew from 120 to over 1600 employees working on next generation software and innovations. Koppolu left Microsoft on September 24, 2010.[1][2]
After Microsoft[]
In April 2012, Koppolu became the first president of Hyderabad Angels. His angel investments included Mojostreet, OnlinePrasad, and Setu Software. A notable success was MedPlus, which had grown to become the second largest pharmacy chain in India.[1][3][4]
In August 2014, he co-founded NewsPlus, which launched news aggregation app Veooz in the following year.[1][5]
