A remake was developed by Purple Lamp Studios and released in 2020 as SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated for the Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S.
Gameplay[]
The original game received the ESRB rating of "E" for Everyone, with content descriptors for "Comic Mischief" and "Mild Cartoon Violence". The remake was rated "E 10+" for Everyone 10 and older, with content descriptors for "Cartoon Violence" and "Comic Mischief".
