Snip & Sketch, originally Screen Sketch, is a Windows screenshot utility program first introduced in Windows 10 Version 1809 (Anniversary Update) and later. It can take still screenshots of an open window, rectangular areas, a free-form area, or the entire screen. Snips can then be annotated using a mouse or a tablet, stored as an image file (PNG, GIF, or JPEG formats), copied to the clipboard, emailed, or shared with another UWP app. Snip & Sketch allows for basic image editing of the snapshot, with different colored pens, pencils, an eraser, and a highlighter.
History[]
Snip & Sketch is the successor to the Snipping Tool, which was included as a PowerToy for the Microsoft Tablet PC launch in November 2002, and on all editions starting with Windows Vista. Both apps are available on Windows 10.
