Opera is a Chromium-based web browser developed by its namesake company Opera Software. Initially released on April 10, 1995, it is one of the oldest desktop browsers still actively developed today. It uses the Blink layout engine.
Opera is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. Mobile versions called "Opera Mobile" and "Opera Mini" are also available. In 2019, a gaming-oriented version of the browser called "Opera GX" was released. A blockchain-focused "Opera Crypto Browser" went into public beta in January 2022.
In April 2023, the company announced an overhaul to the browser, called Opera 100 and codenamed "Opera One", adding a new user interface and several AI-related features.
