Product history[]
Solitaire was first included with Windows 3.0 in 1990, in addition to Reversi as a bundled game. It was included again in Windows 3.1, and remained a part of Windows throughout all versions of Windows 9x and its Windows NT counterparts. Solitaire was also included in Windows XP.
Windows Vista and Windows 7 included a new version of Solitaire, made by Oberon Media. This iteration used a new visual style matching the design of the operating systems, which was also featured in the other built-in card games.
The Microsoft Solitaire Collection, for Windows 8.1, 10, iOS 10 and up, or Android 5.0 and up, supports different gameplay rules, including Klondike (Classic Solitaire).
