Microsoft Popfly was a website created in May 2007 by Adam Nathan and John Montgomery with Microsoft Silverlight technology.
The website allowed users who signed in with the Windows LIVE ID service to create games, programs, mashups, gadgets and webpages (within a 100 MB space limit), and they could store and distribute their creations to other users.
Despite its initial success the project was discontinued by August 24, 2009, possibly due to financial reasons, with Microsoft citing the following shortly before ending the service,
“ | If you want to keep programming, use Kodu or Scratch. | ” |
