MS Office Backstage View

Backstage view for Microsoft Word.

The Backstage view is a feature of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office applications when users start an app or when the File tab is selected. This view provides functions that apply to the overall file in contrast to actions taken in the file content. It is an interface that facilitates access to document management and sharing tasks by consolidating them within a single location.

Usage[]

Introduced in Microsoft Office 2007, the Backstage View allows the user to examine the properties of a file, including file size, page count, word count, the creation and modification dates of the document, and the author.

This view also permits the user to manipulate some aspects of the file.[1]
