Microsoft Office 3.0 is the second major release of Microsoft Office for Windows and the third on the Macintosh, preceding Microsoft Office 95 and 4.2, respectively. Office 3.0 was released by Microsoft on August 30, 1992, omitting version 2 for Windows entirely.

It was superseded by Microsoft Office 4.0, released for Windows and Mac in 1994.

Applications

The main components of the suite included:

• Microsoft Word 2.0c for Windows / 5.1 for Mac
• Microsoft Excel 4.0a
• Microsoft PowerPoint 3.0
• Microsoft Mail
• Microsoft Access (Professional edition only)

Previously, these components were distributed separately for Windows, and it was with Microsoft Office that they were combined as a full office suite.
