Windows NT 5.0 Workstation Beta 2 Build 1902 in Microsoft Virtual PC 2007
Windows NT 5.0 was an early working title for the alpha and early beta versions of what became Windows 2000.
Alpha and beta versions[]
Windows NT 5.0 was released as an alpha version in 1996, a beta 1 version in 1997, beta 2 version in 1998, and beta 3 version in 1999. It was planned as an upgrade of Windows NT 4.0. A Service Pack code named "Asteroid" had also been planned for release in the 4th quarter of 1999, but did not happen.[1]
