Logo (2016-present)

Dell is an original equipment manufacturer and computer company that makes products for Microsoft's operating systems (such as MS-DOS and Windows) since 1985. The company is named after its founder, Michael Dell. It is one of the largest technological corporations in the world, as it has employed over 165,000 people worldwide. The company has been well known for its innovations in electronic commerce, specifically with its direct-sales model and its "build-to-order" approach to manufacturing.

History[]

Since 2015, Dell has been the third-largest PC vendor in the world, behind Lenovo and Hewlett-Packard with a 16.8% market share. It is also the second-largest non-oil company in Texas, along with being the largest company in the Greater Austin area. Until October 30, 2013, it was a publicly-traded company, as well as being part of the NASDAQ-100 and S&P 500. Dell currently owns Alienware, Perot Systems, Security Software, and EMC. In July 2021, Dell stopped marketing most Alienware desktop gaming models in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington due to new energy conservation regulations.[1]
