Brian Eno (born May 15, 1948 in Woodbridge, Suffolk, England) is an ambient music composer who composed the Windows 95 startup sound (also known as "The Microsoft Sound").
The Microsoft Sound[]
In 1994, Microsoft designers Mark Malamud and Erik Gavriluk approached Eno to compose music for the Windows 95 project.[1] The result was the six-second start-up music-sound of Windows 95 – dubbed "The Microsoft Sound".
