Why was there no Windows 9?

I used Windows Vista SP0, it was horrible, upgraded to SP2 and it worked very well. (It was on Virtualbox)

Yea but 8.1 is very optimised and runs very smooth on a 4GB RAM VM, better than Windows 7 (very slightly), you have to give that to 8.1
